Crazed Imaginations is put together by a group of
Rocky fans in our spare (?) time.
Every issue depends on contributions from the greater
Rocky community: this is YOUR magazine; we just gather and assemble
it.
Here's the core group that makes that happen every
month. We've spent more than 90 years (!) between us doing Rocky
Horror, and we enjoy sharing that with our readers.
Ruth performs Magenta and currently performs in Lincoln, Nebraska, where, many years and many casts ago, she first started performing in 1988.
Ruth has seen
the film in six different countries. She received the first BOSS
award in 1998, and received a Fan Award from the Fan Club at the
25th anniversary.
Bill founded Crazed in 1995, and retired as editor
in 1998.
Now retired from performing Rocky Horror, he logged more than 20
years with the NYC Cast and plays a mean Bert Schnick.
Retired vice president of the Official Shock Treatment Fan Club,
Bill has helped organize two Rocky conventions, arranging for Nell
to appear at the NYC 1998 and Allentown 2000 cons. Bill received
the BOSS award in 1999.
Gene Chiovari: Layout, graphic design, webmaster.
Gene plays Frank with Chicago cast Completely Crazy and has been involved in the
Rocky Horror cult since 1977. He has been a founding member of many a cast, most notably of
Completely Crazy (originally known as The Unconventional Conventionists) and Chicago's Midnight
Madness (which started out in the IL suburb of Meadowdale), co-founded with Bruce Cutter and several
other members of note who were also original members of Milwaukee's Celluloid Jam.
With more than 20 years performing under his garterbelt, he's helped
organize two Rocky Horror conventions, one of which Richard O'Brien
attended. He was recognized for his contributions by the Fan Club
at the 20th anniversary in 1995 and was so stoned he does not remember a damn bit of it.
Gene's distinctive designs can be seen not only in our pages but
on the most complete line of Rocky Horror buttons available today.
Gene came on board with issue 7 and has been cheerfully asking his
computer to do the impossible ever since.
Dawn Henline: Reporter, photopicking, printing/mailing.
Dawn is Assistant cast director for Back Row
Productions in Charleston, SC and Cast Leader of Sins of the
South. Dawn serves as emcee and plays Magenta when given the
opportunity, but usually helps out with tech and is all around cast
chameleon. Dawn is one of the many cast founders of Back Row
Productions and has been doing Rocky Since July 2002.
Christine Gallipeau: Layout; how-tos.
Christine currently performs as Transie and has
recently been "promoted" to Head Prop Bitch with Virginia's Norfolk
cast,
Fishnet Inc. Her involvement with Rocky Horror started 24 years
ago when she was first dragged to Montclair Twins Theater in
California when she was 14. Over the years, Christine as played
every character and has been in numerous casts. She specializes in
making Frank's costume but makes others as the need arises. At Crazed, she specializes in speed layout.
Maggie Bob: Reporter: UK Beat.
Maggie Bob was pulled into the dark recesses of
Rocky Horror sometime in the late 20th century, and has never
looked back. In the summer of 2001 she joined Less Vulnerable, the
debutante London cast, for whom she currently plays Magenta, as
well as taking on the role of web and prop mistress. As if her
participation isn’t enough, she is slowly converting all of
her family, and has so far succeeded in getting her brother to join
her on the cast.
Jo Hedelman: Reporter.
Jo was first introduced to Rocky Horror in 1999 as an innocent University
freshman and has since become fascinated with the show. She has been
performing as Magenta with The University of Oregon's "Forbidden Fruit,"
since 2002, and plans on auditioning for any cast in whatever city she
happens to live in. She hopes to someday perform in the Rocky Horror Show,
as she assumes people will appreciate her loud singing much more when she is
not competing with her on-screen character.
Matthew M. Yenkala: ALUM--Printing.
Matt was first exposed to RHPS in the late
1970’s via his sister, a member of Phoenix, AZ's first cast.
In 1988, Matthew finally saw the movie and was instantly addicted.
He co-founded Phoenix's BROADWAY BOUND & GAGGED and
performed as Riff. After a break and a stint in the audience, Matt
returned to ROCKY full time in 1999, helping with promotion and
finally ending up co-managing the damned thing.
Matt is the self-appointed Arizona RHPS historian
and archivist, and with Scott McDee (a schoolmate Matthew dragged
to Rocky in 1988) he often plays ambassador to other casts. He is
currently writing his first screenplay and planning the revival of
his comedy TV show ILLEGAL PROGRAMMING. Eventual goals include
being a big-time filmmaker and ruling the world.
Mike Bennett: ALUM--Editor/"Office monkey"
(printing/mailing/copyediting).
Mike has been a part of the Rocky Horror Experience
for 20 years as of December 2002. He first saw RHPS in Lakehurst IL
in Dec 1982 after graduating from Navy bootcamp, was immediately
hooked and sought out Rocky wherever he traveled. Mike retired from
acting in 2000 and now works behind the scenes in the Rocky
community. He edited Crazed from fall 2002-2003.
Claudia Bakker: ALUM--Reporter: Euro Beat.
Claudia got addicted to the Time Warp in 1999, when
she saw Jason Donovan being a Sweet Transvestite in London. She
instantly knew there would be no turning back for her. Some time
after, she started Rockyhorror.nl, the Dutch fan club,
with a couple of like-minded souls. This gathering led to the kick
off of CastRatedGood in 2002 in which Claudia played Janet.
Carrie Dahlby: ALUM-- Starbeat reporter.
Carrie Dahlby performs Janet and Magenta for the
Pink Invaders in Merrillville, IN;
Transvestite Soup in Minneapolis; and Chicago's
Midnight Madness cast. She has also performed as Betty Hapschatt in Shock Treatment, Yitzhak in Hedwig and
the Angry Inch (with Midnight Madness), and performed in the popular "Rocky Horror Polka Show" pre-show that
debuted in Vegas at the 25th Anniversary convention.
Cosmo: ALUM--Webspace provider.
Cosmo began attending RHPS in 1993. He plays Eddie,
Crim and Dr. Scott, and is currently a member (on leave) from The
Denton Affair, Cincinnati's RHPS cast. Cosmo received the Boss
Award in 1999 and received a Fan Award from the Fan Club at the
25th anniversary. He runs Cosmo's Factory and provided Crazed with free webspace for years because he's just a nice guy.
Kat Gonzales: ALUM--Copy Editor
Kat first saw Rocky (the movie) when she was nine,
but didn't become a fan until she was twelve (she was originally
scared of the movie). She is the only member of the staff who's not
yet seen the film with a live cast. She does plan on seeing it live
once a local cast gets started up again.
Scott James: ALUM--Reporter.
Scott has been involved in RHPS since 1997. He
attended his first show dressed as Eddie and was invited to join
the cast, Las Vegas's Divine Decadence.
Since then as part of DD, he's participated in con preshows,
performed on television, marched in parades, and performed in
libraries and gay bars, as well as guest performing with several
casts including Sins O the Flesh, Rocky's Whores, the Montclair, CA
cast and the NYC Cast, which he plans to join in the near
future.
I enjoy working with Crazed even though they often confuse me
with Scott McDonald :D
jefF N.: ALUM--Assistant graphics & layout; printing and
mailing, staff photographer.
Cast leader for Chicago's Midnight Madness cast and
performing Brad.
jefF's convention photo
archives and Ultimate Rocky
Horror Links pages are resources for the entire Rocky Horror
community. jefF joined our staff in 1999, and we're not sure how we
managed to do without him. We'll be finding out as he retired from
the staff in August 2002. Thanks for your help, jefF!
Scott "McDee" McDonald: ALUM--Reporter.
Scott first saw RHPS in 1988, and started performing
in 1994 when he joined Broadway Bound and Gagged in Tempe,
Arizona. He has guest performed with several different casts and is
currently performing with Heavy Petting in
Tucson where he can ride his motorcycle into the theater (the
license plate reads "RHPS"). For 2 1/2 years, Scott hosted "Dark
Refrains", a live internet RHPS radio show on the now defunct
Vampire Radio.com. He also maintains (poorly) www.ex-deliveryboy.com, an
Eddie performers tribute site which blatantly rips off the Anal Retentive
Rocky Horror Costume List and Cosmo's Factory. The bastard
feels no remorse.
James Norman: ALUM--Printing, Mailing,
Computer Help.
James Norman has been doing RHPS since 1987. He
joined A Jump To The Left in 1990 as Eddie/Crim/Dr. Scott, later
also playing Brad. James appeared, for about three seconds, as
"Labcoat Brad" in the 1993 RHPS TV premiere, in an excerpt which appears on the DVD. He was one of the final
three Brad costume contestants at the 25th Anniversary. He stopped
performing regularly in 1995, but still collects Rocky-related
audio.
James designed the official 25th Anniversary site and produced
the Rocky
Horror Sourcebook . He saved our butts more than once and consults occasionally when we beg hard enough.
SaraH "Spice": ALUM--Copy and update reporter.
SaraH plays Brad, Magenta and Rocky and is a member
of Ontario's cast, The Denton Episcopalians. SaraH first came on
board doing proofreading and branched out from there.
Jeff Gamlin: ALUM--Shadowcast outreach and RHS beat
reporter.
JJeff plays Riff, Brad and Dr. Scott. He performed with Chicago'sMidnight Madness and performed with
Indiana's
Pink Invaders casts.
Jeff had written a number of pieces on Rocky and Shock Treatment
for other independent zines, such as the Wormwood Chronicles, before
finding out about Crazed.
